Bringing Older Homes In Northfield Back To Life
Northfield is different from the beach towns we work in, and that changes the type of remodels we handle here. Most of the homes here are year-round family houses, ranches, split-levels, capes, and colonials that have been lived in hard for decades and are ready for their next chapter. Instead of vacation-rental turnovers, our Northfield projects are kitchens that finally match how a family cooks, bathrooms overdue since the 90s, and additions that let people stay in the neighborhood they love instead of moving out of it!
Our team is a straight shot away, from our Ocean City office, it’s over the bridge and up Shore Road, about 15 minutes door to door. That means our crew shows up on time, our project manager can swing by between milestones, and nothing sits waiting because the builder is an hour away.
Plenty of contractors will take a job in Northfield, but what’s different about our team is how the work is structured. We’re a full design-build company: our in-house designer Elise works with you on layout and selections first, our project manager keeps the schedule honest, and our own carpenters do the building. Nothing gets lost in a handoff, because there isn’t one.
Here’s the type of projects we do most often in Northfield:
– Kitchen remodeling and design – Full teardowns and rebuilds, including opening up the closed-off kitchens most mid-century mainland homes were built with.
– Bathroom remodeling and design – Primary bath overhauls, guest and hall baths built for daily family traffic, and powder rooms with real personality.
– Custom decks and porches – Northfield yards actually have room to work with, so this is where we build some of our bigger outdoor projects: composite decks, screened porches, and full outdoor living setups.
– Home additions and extensions – Bump-outs, second stories, and in-law suites for families that need more room but don’t want a new address.
– Custom trim and built-ins – Crown molding, wainscoting, built-in shelving, wet bars, and the millwork details that make an older home feel custom.
– Whole-home remodeling – Phased or all-at-once renovations that bring an entire dated house up to how you actually live now.
Each of these works as a standalone project or as part of a larger renovation plan.

Why Homeowners Trust Our Dream Team With Their Home Renovations
Here’s the thing about remodeling in Northfield, you’re usually living in the house while we work on it. Kids still have school, dinner still has to happen, and the project can’t take over your life. So we plan around that with clean containment between the work zone and the rest of the house, a schedule you can actually plan a week around, and a crew that leaves the site tidy every single day. It’s the part of the job our reviews bring up over and over, a 4.9-star average across 60+ Google reviews that keep mentioning honest communication, the owner on the job, and finished work that matches what was promised.
Our credentials are there also with every project running under NJ Home Improvement Contractor License #13VH11446200, and we hold an A+ rating with the BBB.
My wife Elise and I started NJ Dream Builders in 2016 because we believed the design and the build belong under one roof. Ten years later that’s still the whole idea: one team, one point of contact, from the first design meeting to the final coat of paint. We’d be proud to put that to work on your home!
