Our crew is putting the finishing touches on this massive exterior transformation, and as you can see from the aerial view, the results are stunning. We just completed a dual-system roofing installation that pairs high-performance architectural shingles on the main structure with a custom “Pacific Blue” standing seam metal roof on the lower porch and accents.

Why the mix of materials? While the asphalt shingles provide a traditional look and excellent bulk water shedding for the steep slopes, the standing seam metal is engineered for the areas that take the hardest hit from wind and salt spray. Unlike screw-down metal roofs, this standing seam system uses hidden fasteners. This means there are no exposed screws to rust or back out over time—a critical detail for longevity on the barrier island.

We also wrapped the entire home in crisp, white lap siding to complete that timeless shore look. But the real work is what you don’t see under that siding: the meticulous house wrap, the window flashing, and the corner detailing that ensures this building envelope is completely sealed against driving rain.
